European WRF-CHEM workshop 2026

On May 12-14th 2026 the European WRF-Chem User Workshop will take place in Rijeka, Croatia. The workshop will last 2 or 3 days, depending on the number of abstracts received. The objective of the workshop is to encourage interactions and discussions between users of the regional chemistry-transport model WRF-Chem.

Workshop main topic

The WRF-Chem Workshop is designed to explore regional air quality applications of the WRF-Chem model, along with broader related topics. It also aims to enhance participants’ understanding of the WRF-Chem atmospheric transport model—particularly its practical implementation for beginners—and to strengthen collaboration and networking among users worldwide.

Target audience

The WRF-Chem model is used for a wide range research and operational applications to study and forecast air quality and meteorology-chemistry interactions around the world. Participants use WRF-Chem to forecast and understand air quality issues as well as meteorology interactions with aerosol and trace gas chemistry. Each participant will present its work during the workshop, also posters are welcome, since there will be poster sessions during the workshop.
